Since 1906, the Red Hemlock has sat perched above the hamlet of Arkville, in the shadow of Dry Brook Ridge. Less than two miles from Margaretville, one of the largest Catskills towns, 10 minutes from Belleayre Ski Mountain, and walkable to the small Arkville main street, it offers the unique combination of privacy and convenience. Originally named “Solitude”, it was built as the summer home of F.W. Rothamel, a prominent NYC diamond merchant, during the turn of the century.
Constructed and maintained by master carpenters, the property recently underwent a full renovation to bring in all modern conveniences, without compromising the historic craftsman charm.
